The jobs recognized as vital work or preferred work are identical.  The only difference is that a preferred work is an employment unfit to the hired soldier, in terms of distance or occupation. The individual employed in a preferred work may, even when he does not meet all conditions related to a vital work, be entitled to a partial grant under certain conditions.
